We are getting excited to share the Gloria with you all in just a few short weeks! Here's a sneak preview of the energetic and joyful seventh movement of the Gloria, titled 'Domine, Fili unigenite.' The day of the concert, we'll be accompanied by a harpsichord and chamber ensemble instead of the organ, so the sound will be something really special. Hope to see you there!

A sneak peek at the Advent Organ Concert: José Reyes-Ortiz plays the Final from Louis Vierne's 6th Organ Symphony. Our historic Jardine organ boasts a total of 1,520 pipes, making it an incredibly rich instrument. Come experience it for yourself at our concert - the choir loft will be open to the public for the first 35 people! If you can land a loft seat, you'll experience a closer look at Reyes-Ortiz's performance and witness the workings of our beautiful pipe organ firsthand.

What a joy to have the newly ordained Fr. Patrick May celebrate mass at our church on the Feast of Pentecost this past Sunday! We sang this piece after communion in his honor- a beautiful setting of "Veni Creator Spiritus' by Palestrina, one of the all-time greatest composers of sacred music and the master of Renaissance choral polyphony. Many blessings to Fr. May as he begins his priestly vocation. We are so grateful for your service to our Church. https://youtu.be/zD3vZok_9Mc

As Easter drew to a close today, we sang 'Surrexit a Mortuis' by Charles-Marie Widor as a finale to this joyful season. Evoking splendor and awe, this triumphal piece allows our beautiful Jardine organ to shine with its booming chords and majestic tonality. "He rose from the dead, Christ, the Son of God, the good shepherd,... the shepherd who for his flock laid down his life. Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us. He rose from the dead. Alleluia!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dchLJhJOAfE

To celebrate the Feast of the Ascension, we sang 'Ascendit Deus' by early Renaissance composer Peter Philips at today's Mass. The liturgy of the Ascension puts a tremendous emphasis on joy, which is echoed in this jubilant and soaring choral piece. 'God has gone up with shouts of joy, the Lord with a trumpet-blast!’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAU87IWuwtU

This delightfully tuneful and catchy motet from today's offertory was so much fun to sing - and hopefully to listen to as well! Originally written for a double choir, this piece can be sung with up to 8 parts, creating a rich sound and layered harmonies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkSFInTZnjU

This setting of 'Regina caeli', sung during today's offertory, is one of the most unique pieces we've attempted. Composed by Tomás Luis de Victoria, a Renaissance priest with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, this piece expresses the joy of Mary in the resurrection of her son. The setting is quite complex and technical, with an atypical rhythm that makes it particularly challenging to sing. But the effort pays off off in a flowing and melodious antiphon that achieves ...a heart-lifting sonority and beauty. Full text: Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia. Has risen, as he said, alleluia. Pray for us to God, alleluia. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3aDp6xAjkE
