David’s presence in the Fraternity has been considered invaluable since he became our good brother. Along with serving as Chapter President for the 2018-2019 year, Bro. Freire has: Served as Co-director of The Emory Dark Arts... Worked as a Psychology Researcher in both the Department of Psychology AND the Department of Psychiatry Served in Residence Life as a Resident Advisor Upon Leaving Emory, Brother Freire will be attending the University of Virginia in pursuit of a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology. Congratulations to MA’s Spring ‘19 Deuce Ian Laurie as he receives his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Strategy and Management Consulting! In his time at Emory, Ian served as: Captain of the Oxford College Basketball team and a member of 2016 team, the first to win Conference Champions... Oxford Black Student Alliance member Oxford College Gospel Choir member Northwestern Mutual Intern Physical Education teacher at St. Timothy’s elementary school And WMRE member, where he hosted a weekly radio show As a post-graduate Ian will be working for Streamcut Media in Atlanta Deuce! This brother has done it all: AHANA a Cappella: 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 (President) NAACP 2016-2017 (Vice President)... Recipient of the Emory Martin Luther King, Jr. scholarship, a full academic scholarship Member of the Emory Scholars’ Program Member and employee of the Developing Urban Kids with Etiquette and Self-Esteem (D.U.K.E.S) Foundation for 10 years He begins his post-graduate journey as a bilingual regional sales representative for Asahi Diamond, a Japanese company located in Alpharetta, Georgia. As he departs Emory he leaves these words of wisdom: Don’t overcapitalize on your personal sense of obligation to expectations imposed on you, but to instead pursue your personal passions, which will lesd you to a sense of fulfillment, something invaluable.
