Since our campaign started, we've shipped over 50 pounds of treats to our wonderful donors. Thank you SO MUCH!!! With your donations, we've been able to get Kobie's passport processed, and are in the planning phases of Kobie's first international educational excursion in the fall or winter. Please consider supporting our worldschooling effort. We realized early in Kobie's educational journey that a traditional school doesn't serve his learning style. I strongly believe that ...the only way to maximize his learning experience, and the the only way for him to truly LOVE learning is to immerse him in learning experiences that he understands - real-life, hands-on experiences. So, here we are. I'm already seeing that it's one of the best decisions we've ever made for him. He asks to learn. He has input in the subjects we focus on for the day. He retains information 100 times better, because it's information that he cares about. And, yes, it's a lot more work. But, what's the alternative? Fortunately, moving him from a traditional school setting gives us access to SO many learning opportunities - museums, clinics, camps, and travel, of course, at any time! So, his learning experiences are limitless, with exception to funding, which is why we're asking for your help. Kobie and I thank you, again, for your support!!!

Kobie just returned from Chicago. Though this wasn't so much a "Kobie sees the world" trip as it was a trip to visit family (his father is in Chicago) we were able to squeeze in some educational components with a walk through the city, and Lake Michigan cruise. He's amazed that it's not an ocean. Now that he's back home, part of Kobie's learning is to write about places he wants to go and why. He'll post his updates here and on his "Kobie Sees The World" blog. We're submitting his passport application this week, and will be planning our first major excursion, soon.

Update from our community garden - focus on the word "COMMUNITY": Emmy Mathis, Christopher Hollis, and numerous other neighbors have done an outstanding job keeping our community garden growing, learning to grow organically (pesticide-free) in the middle of the city, solely for the purposes of beautifying our neighborhood, educating neighbors on the ease of growing their own food and giving food to those in need. They've volunteered to keep our garden project going through th...e winter, and have yielded beautiful results!!! Thank you for everything you're doing to keep the Adair Park Community Garden alive and well! If anyone would like to donate mulch, compost, organic pest control, etc. please let us know, or please make a tax-deductible donation on our Go Fund Me page: www.gofundme.com/soh-inc Thank you for your support!!! #foodisfree #sohinc #ronfinleyismyhero #smallbutimpactfulgarden

Today, on #GivingTuesday, I ask that you make a donation to SOH, Inc. In acknowledgment of our strong community support, and collaboration from many sources; in consideration of the commitment I made to my community and to my Creator to give back; and in appreciation of the participants who have stayed the course, giving up isn't an option. We've provided ServSafe training to 15 people this year. Our partner, Atlanta Restaurant Group is helping in this effort. We still need t...o train ten more before culinarians before the end of the year, which requires resources. We're halfway through a ten-month gardening education program in partnership with HABESHA, Inc. the education continues, but requires resources. We're modifying our culinary training component to be we -based, so that it's universally accessible. Developing that, and accessing space to provide it takes resources. If 100 of our friends donating $10 or more will help tremendously in keeping our programs going into the new year. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today! Thank you for your support! www.gofundme.com/soh-inc

It's been a while since we've updated you. Our garden education is in full swing, and we're continuing to provide ServSafe certification to disadvantaged members of our community... Even in the physical absence of a director. This speaks to the necessity of community. As we close out the year, we want to thank the hundreds of friends, family, neighbors, etc. who continue to support our mission. Special thanks to my spouse, Kobie Roberston, who offered financial and motivation...al support in getting SOH Inc. up and running; to Cashawn Myers and HABESHA; to Susan Douglas, to Jake Rothschild, Christopher Hollis, Emmy Mathis and our band of Adair Park neighbors who care enough to keep our community garden going. We still need continued support. Our grants are expiring, funds are low, and I haven't been able to invest the level of focus needed to procure more grants, nor the resources to contribute financially, as I readjust to some personal life changes. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will count as a deductible donation, as we are a 501(c)3. Your donation will go specifically to continuing our garden education program through HABESHA, continued ServSafe certification, and the development of podcast tutorials, which will be accessible across the country. To donate, please visit: gofundme.com/SOH-Inc. Thank you again for your continued support.
