Sales at the 1,000 Burger King units operated by giant franchisee Carrols Restaurant Group improved through the last three months of 2021. Until omicron hit, that is. The Syracuse, New York-based company said that the surging omicron variant likely hurt its sales in the last two weeks of the month.

The NFA supports the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) Reinstatement Act and thanks Reps. Carol Miller, Stephanie Murphy, Kevin Hern and Terri Sewell for sponsoring a bill that will reinstate the ERTC for the fourth quarter of 2022, giving BURGER KING owners and their employees the stability needed in these uncertain times. After its successful United States launch, Burger King’s Impossible Whopper has finally arrived in stores across Canada. The burger first rolled out in the U.S. before becoming available in Ontario locations last month. Now it’s gone national.

It’s been over 90 years since Burger King cofounder David Edgerton was born in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, but the recent rebranding of the fast-food chain prompted the community to take a brief look back at the few roots he had in the city. Edgerton is credited with introducing the franchise’s broiler technology after witnessing the shop’s broiler break down and declaring that he could build a better one. Before his death in 2018, he also told the New York Times that he named the Whopper, the signature burger conceived in 1957, and drew the first king for the company logo.

Burger King is kicking off 2021 with its first complete rebrand in more than two decades. The company revealed a new visual design that will thread throughout all touchpoints of the guest experience.
Burger King is doubling down on value with a new $1 Your Way menu set to debut Dec. 28. The menu will feature the Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken Jr., value fries and value soft drink. We know that value is extremely important to our guests, especially now, said CMO Ellie Doty, in a statement. That’s why we set out to create a menu that offers craveable products, like our Bacon Cheeseburger, that can’t be found at the same price anywhere else."
