Ebony Webb lives Necco's corporate culture principles every single day. She had an idea to open bank accounts for young adults in Independent Living and she ran with it! Read her story here necco.org/news/244-Corporate-Culture-Ebony-Webb #CorporateCulture #WeBuildFutures #FinancialLiteracy
At Necco, our Independent Living Program is all about setting our young adults up for success after foster care. One critical building block is financial literacy. This is the story of how one idea blossomed into 250 newly opened savings accounts with many more on the way. #WeBuildFutures #FinancialLiteracy

It's often tougher to find homes for teenagers in foster care for a number of reasons that are mostly misconceptions. You can make a difference in the life of a... child by showing up to their sporting event or teaching them how to drive. Just be there for them. #BelieveInTeens #WeBuildFamilies See more

Being in foster care is hard. I’ve never belonged anywhere or had much of my own. I moved from home to home. Some of my parents really cared & then some just ma...de me want to run; but I knew if I did, I’d be back in a group home & I really didn’t want that. It was important to feel like a part of a family, although I never really did. I never had a lunch box because I received free lunch through the state & I always had blank walls in my room because, I assume decorating for a child that will leave isn’t easy. As a teenager, after years of being in care, I’m finally with a family that doesn’t see the label foster kid but treats me exactly like their kids. They hug me every night before bed, my room is decorated for the very first time & I have a lunchbox I can pack whenever I want. I’m still learning what it’s like to be part of a real family, but my hope is that every kid in foster care gets to experience this. #FosterCare #NationalFosterCareAwarenessMonth
Happy Labor Day everybody! Our offices will be closed today in observance of the holiday.
Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story. Josh Shipp Let’s talk about reunification: family reunification Refers to the process of retu...rning children in temporary out-of-home care to their families of origin. Reunification is both the primary goal for children in out-of-home care as well as the most common outcome. The reunification process in foster care is when a foster child is in the process of being reunified with their parents. When a child is no longer part of the foster care system, and the case is closed, they have been successfully reunified. At that time, parents have regained placement of the child, and Social Services has deemed the home safe for the child’s return. Each foster care case begins with the goal of reunification. Parents are given goals to meet in a timely manner to be reunited with their children. Most children are able to return home to their families. There are instances in which the parent has their parental rights terminated, and then the child is placed for adoption. Reunification is the goal and must be pursued when possible and safe for the child. For more information on becoming a foster parent please join us for our virtual orientation we cover many topics like this one and the opportunity learn about our company, the state requirements for foster parents, and the foster home approval process.
