Noon Optimist Club of Rome

Picture of participants from our Rome Noon Optimist Annual Student of the Year Banquet! What an awesome evening celebrating our outstanding young people with $5,250 in awards paid out! The Top All Around winner was Ellie Getchell, a Model High School senior who is the daughter of Glenn and Laura Getchell (back row 4th from left). Congratulations to these outstanding young people!

Awesome job posting a 37 yesterday and a 43 today (in the high winds and freezing cold) which was the best round of the Floyd County Schools tournament at Stonebridge! As such - Will Cooper, a 9th Grader from Armuchee, not only won the tournament but will also represent our Optimist Club in the qualifier event in June for Optimist International Junior Golf Championship! I am sure his coach, Eric Burkhalter, is quite proud of him as are we! Go get ‘em Will!

We are looking for some talented speakers 18 years old and under! You can win a cash prize (up to $200!) and work your way up to the National Level where the top winner can earn up to $22,500 in college scholarships along the way!
