In the United States, studies have found more than one third of adults failed to receive recommended cancer screening during the pandemic. While cancer screenings have been delayed because of COVID-19, cancer hasn’t stopped. Less preventive care now means later stage diagnoses and more preventable cancer deaths. The American Cancer Society is joining with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and 74 other leading health organizations to encourage the prioritization of cancer screening.
