As we continue to highlight August as National Immunization Month, I hope you will visit the Northwest Metro Chapter GNA website for more great information on how to promote immunization education for children and teens. Our Babies and Children page reviews 10 important immunizations for babies and school age children. Vaccinating children according to the recommended schedule is one of the best ways to protect them from 14 harmful and potentially deadly diseases. http://www....ganmc.org/Immunizations-for-Babies-and-Young-Chi Our Pre-teen and Teen page reminds us that older children have immunization needs as well. Did you know: the CDC recommends all 11- to 12-year olds be vaccinated with a meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY), with a booster dose at age 16 so they continue to have protection during the ages when they are at highest risk of meningococcal disease. http://www.ganmc.org/Immunizations-for-Pre-teens-and-Teens. Let us know how you have put our August Immunization Awareness information into action, and you could be featured on our website! Every small action is an important step in decreasing the numbers of preventable diseases. You can share on our Facebook page or email to [email protected]
