Recovery is the process that includes refueling, repair, resynthesis, reduction of inflammation, restoration, and last but not least, REST! All of these work together to return your body back to it's state of balance, or also known as homeostasis. According to NASM, National Academy of Sports Medicine, active recovery after repeated intense exercise can result in faster returns to homeostasis. So on your off days away from us, take a walk with your dog or play with your kids! Be sure to get a good night's rest as well & most importantly STRETCH! Foam rolling or general stretching will greatly decrease your risk injury

Back At It Challenge Week 6: Increasing Physical Activity Welcome to Week 6 Orange Family! We’ve set our goals, exercising every week, hydrating, fueling up, and getting good sleep. How do we take our physical activity to the next level? Simple, applying the same discipline and principles to our time outside of the gym. Creating the same S.M.A.R.T goals to our daily routine, like getting an extra 5-10 minute walk each day of the week. When you go about your daily errands, par...k further away or take the stairs to that next floor. Think of it as your extra .1 on the treads, it might even help you close that move ring too! Remember to be kind to yourself, and work up to those extra efforts. We might be strong, but we are stronger together. Schedule a workout or take a walk with a loved one, evidence shows that social support increases our chances of maintaining exercise behaviors. See more
