Everyone can make Winter holiday celebrations safer by remembering the 3 Ws: 1. Wash your hands * Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. If your hands are visibly dirty, use soap and water over hand sanitizer. Key times to clean your hands include - After using the restroom... - Before eating or preparing food - After putting on, touching, or removing cloth face coverings. - Before touching your face - After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing * Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of their elbow. Throw used tissues into no-touch trash cans and immediately wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol. - After leaving a public place - After touching animals or pets 2. Watch your distance * Practice social distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet distance from others when possible. * Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care. 3. Wear a face covering over your mouth and nose * Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask in public settings and when around people who don't live in your house, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. * Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. Masks are not a substitute for social distancing.
