A message on Chairman Martin Moseley We got a "little" good news today at our weekly Peach County Covid19 Task Force meeting. Area numbers of current cases are down a bit. Both Dept of Health and Peach Medical Center report an easing of pressure on services. Here in Peach County, our current address count for positive cases is at 116. It has not been that low in quite some time.Your efforts are working, but we must stay cautious. There is some bad news though.. As I'm sure yo...u've heard on different news broadcasts, minority and elderly populations are slow to get vaccinated or just hard to reach. Today, our Board offered Peach County's assistance in taking the vaccine to those citizens in need. We have offered two fire stations to be vaccination sites, Willow Lake (FV) and Donnie Doles on 341(FV). We may look at Byron as well if the need is there. Some of our medical staff (EMS) might be available to assist as well. All this will need to be approved by the State of Ga, but we are making this available if needed. Also we are working with the Senior Center (South Peach Park) to help get the word out to everyone on their "meals on wheels" list. Although Covid has the center closed, we are still delivering meals and can make contact to give information and assistance. I am not one to tell folks what to and not to do, but I would ask that everyone in Peach County strongly consider getting the COVID19 vaccine. Most of our Sheriff Deputies and Fire Dept have taken it. It is safe, effective and it will get us out of this mess sooner than later....I'm taking it and I encourage you to do so as well. Peach County Government is currently experiencing a system-wide internet outage. For many locations our phone systems are down as well. Most offices are not able to conduct business without internet or phone. We currently have no estimated time of fix for the issue.

The Peach County Board of Commissioners extends our sincere thanks to NG Turf for their generous donation of sod. We are proud of the new playground at South Peach Park in Fort Valley. The donated sod surrounds the playground and looks amazing. NG Turf's donation has a positive impact on the life of every child that uses the new playground. They are truly helping us make Peach County a better place to live, work and play.
