Happy Veterans Day! There are and have been many veterans in the community of Pin Point, and today we are featuring Mary Bond Granade Gabriel. If you have been to our museum, you know that the Bond family is one of the founding families of the Pin Point community. Mrs. Gabriel served in the Women’s Army Corps Reserve during World War II, beginning in February of 1943. After the war, she worked as a nurse until she retired and is buried in Sweetfield of Eden Baptist Church Cemetery here in Pin Point. Thank you to her granddaughter Shannon Wilcox Schmidt for sending us these photos and information today, and thank you to all the veterans of Pin Point!

Pin Point Heritage Museum will be closed to the public beginning Sunday, October 11th, due to decreased visitation and the upcoming slower tourism winter season. We look forward to reopening in the spring of 2021 and in the meantime will still offer Pin Point Heritage Museum as a venue for private events and booked tours. Please contact Julia Keating ([email protected]) for more information regarding weddings, events, and private tours.

Pin Point Heritage Museum will now be open Thursday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, beginning this Thursday, May 28th. The museum is an open-air historic site with plenty of space for safe social distancing. For the safety of all staff and guests, we will be observing social distancing protocols and implementing enhanced sanitizing procedures. There will be some changes to the exhibit flow and daily programming for guest safety. We strongly urge guests to wear masks and a...dhere to public health safety notices. We will be also limiting capacity to 10 guests at a time every half an hour, first come, first served, so please call ahead to check availability. Abbreviated guided tours will be offered every half hour. Guests can then explore and examine exhibits more closely. Visitors can purchase tickets on-site at Pin Point Heritage Museum.
