POSITION: Store Clerk, Robins AFB Base Supply Center and Individual Equipment Element Warner Robins, Georgia ABOUT THE ROLE The Store Clerk role will be responsible for assisting in the operation of the retail store in the operation of a Base Supply Center/Individual Equipment Element in compliance with Javit’s Wagner O’Day Act, federal and military guidelines and Alabama Industries for the Blind (AIB). ABOUT YOU You will play a vital role in the duties of cashier and stock clerk along with all aspects of customer service and store maintenance as you will be a part of the AIB team in performing high quality work. Each employee should deal pleasantly and courteously with all of the AIB team to include coworkers, supervisors, customers, and the Executive Manager. You will be operating computerized cash registers and related sales equipment and have the ability to make simple math calculations, counting money, and reconcile the cash drawer. You will be required to maintain transaction records and register reconciliation documentation by completing daily reports and cash verification reports. It will be your responsibility to take inventory of the store, making sure pricing is accurate and restock merchandise and displays as needed. This position reports to the Store Manager, Robins AFB Base Supply Center and Individual Equipment Element, AIB. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate. Must meet the federal definition of legal blindness. Must possess clerical duties such as computer skills and knowledge of office equipment. Must be willing to take a Work Skills Assessment POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must follow AIDB policies and procedures. Must possess or develop an understanding of cultures and needs of persons who are deaf, blind or deaf/blind, ensuring all actions and decisions demonstrate a respect for and value of persons with sensory loss. Must attend Disability Sensitivity Training Class and successfully pass with a 90% to AIB Sensitivity Assessment within the first six (6) months of employment. SALARY: $11.70 - $13.46 IB 23 (260 days) This is an non-exempt position and is subject to overtime time provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
