Happy Thanksgiving! I don't have to look far at all to find many reasons to be thankful. I am thankful for my wonderful family, I am thankful to serve you as your sheriff and I am very thankful to serve alongside some of the best in this profession. I am truly thankful for the men and women that make up the Sheriffs Office my second family. Please remember those who work to keep you safe on this day and the men and women who are protecting us in other countries. I AM TRULY THANKFUL!

A very special "Thank You" to Pastor Vernon Johnson and the fine folks of Trion Heights Baptist Church for the Chick-fil-A lunch that was provided to those working today. Thank you for continuous prayers and your community involvement and support. - Sheriff Mark A. Schrader

The Sheriffs Office really enjoyed playing the Diamondbacks this evening in a baseball game. It was absolutely amazing. I am so thankful for all the staff that volunteered to play this evening. I also appreciate all the ones that wanted to play but were working...I am truly blessed to work with this group of people!!!

Alright folks, please check on your elderly family, neighbors and friends. The temperature is supposed to get very cold after this snow event into Wednesday. If you can't reach someone that you usually check on please call the Sheriffs Office at 706.857.3411. We will check on them. During this time please do not call 911 unless it is an emergency, radio operators will be extremely busy. If you do not have to get out, please don't.
