Ok Everyone, the results from the recount are in! Looks like my opponent officially won with 50.32% of the votes. I am so grateful for the experience and for you, my wonderful supporters, friends and family. I am now rooting for my opponent and hope that he does right by the wonderful people of Smyrna. You all deserve it! Thank you again for your love and support! I wouldn't have traded getting to know you all for the world.

Hey Friends, As many of you have been asking, I just found out some news about the election: There were actually 3 provisional votes from the election...out of those 3, 2 were validated today. 1 vote was only able to vote for the mayor because they voted at the wrong ward location, and the other 1 vote was in fact, a vote for me. Because of this 1 vote, there is exactly 1% of margin between me and my opponent. Because of this, I am within my rights to request a re-count, and ...have already formally done so. It is doubtful that the re-count will yield different results, and in that case, I will not win, but if there does happen to be a mistake even by a couple of votes, there will either be a run-off, or I will win. Either way...it is ridiculously close and I am proud of my campaign and so thankful for the help and encouragement of my supporters! See more

I find it funny that my opponent for city council called the election board today to make sure that I wouldn't be "campaigning" closer than what is legally allowed on election day. Never mind that he is the vice president for Ron Fennels (city council ward 7) company (www.georgia-capitol.com) and they are both registered lobbyists. Might want to get that conflict of interest in check before you start worrying about me holding up a sign 150 feet away from the polls. #votefortara #nov3
