Stop in this evening to take a gander at the new January art show during our First Thursday Artist Spotlight: Kip Ramey event! We'll still have Strange Duck Brewing Open Mic Night as well, so... basically, it's an evening of local art, music and community. ---... Kip Ramey is a Northeast Georgia native with artistic roots that run deep into the Appalchian ground. He uses found objects such as discarded beer and soda can tops, salvaged materials such as lumbers and roofing tin and thrift store treasure finds. Kip seems to find beauty everywhere he goes, even in the darkest times and places. His work has been shown at many national shows, hung in very prestigious galleries and in many private collections around the world. "I believe in working for the betterment and common good for your community and ALL people. We should spend more time lifting people up, supporting our neighbors. We are blessed to be able to showcase our talents, our gifts, they make us unique individuals. Share your gifts, share Love."

After careful consideration, we've decided to close this week during our normal open hours, Wednesday 12/16 through Sunday 12/20. This is out of an abundance of caution following a positive rapid test result for COVID and possible exposure within our family. Everyone is fine and doing well at the present time and we will absolutely make any further updates as needed. As long as everything continues to go well and everyone is in the clear next week, we will plan to reopen next Wednesday 12/23. We certainly value everyone and appreciate all the support! It's definitely a rough time to be a small business and not to mention all the effects on the community as a whole, not just here, but everywhere. Be kind and take care of yourselves! Tonight we invite you to come out and meet our new featured artist of the month, Lisa Lane Art, during our special event First Thursday Artist Spotlight: Lisa Baker. Her artwork will be up on display and available for purchase the entire month of December... a fantastic opportunity for unique gift-giving and supporting local and independent at the same time! --- Lisa Baker is a Japanese-American Artist who was raised in Okinawa, Japan. She moved to the suburbs of Chicago in t...he beginning of freshman year, moving around the Chicagoland area until she graduated in 2012. After graduation, she left for Air Force basic training and spent the next five years at MacDill AFB. She met her future husband, a Marine with ties to Madison County, Ga., while they were both serving. They now live on a one acre farm there and continue to support one another in their artistic ventures along with others in the local art community! Lisa knew she wanted to become an artist when her second grade teacher gave her a Most Likely to Become an Artist certificate. Up to that point, the term "artist" had not even considered in her mind, but the seed was planted and began to grow. Lisa finds inspiration from aspects of her upbringing along with her fascination in the beautifully bizarre nature. The erratic lines outlined in her paintings, for example, are inspired by Japanese calligraphy and English script. From a young age, her mother encouraged beautiful handwriting. The unique color palettes she uses are influenced by the hues in alluring insects. The movement and color use in her artwork sets a tone that is all her own and is both revered and loved by long-time followers and new admirers alike!
