Attention COVID-19 Update: Despite recent announcements from President #45 & GA Governor Kemp, Structured Roots will not be participating in re-opening its doors. There is STILL a shortage of PPE & medical staff. Hospitals & 1st responders are STILL overwhelmed. The virus is STILL mass-spreading. There is STILL no cure. There is STILL no vaccine. There are STILL rising cases and deaths every day of which there are mass burials and unmarked graves. Therefore, we are STILL n...ot accepting Sisterlocks clients, at this time. Our goal is staying healthy, staying alive & staying home until we begin to see a shift that we are comfortable with. We do not believe in taking unnecessary risks. However, we do understand if you need to make other arrangements outside of our studio. Please let us know if this is your choice. When we feel that things are appropriately safe, we will proceed with a staggered approach to taking in clients based on specific criteria prior to opening our full calendar. I know that there is a great deal of concern about COVID-19 and I want to talk to you about the processes Structured Roots has in place for everyone’s safety. We have always focused on cleanliness and client safety. Continued procedures to disinfect work areas ensure that clients feel comfortable. And, of course, all tools are cleaned & sterilized after each use for your health and safety.... We are now taking other steps to address concerns, for instance, encouraging cash-less transactions. $Zelle is now the preferred payment method. Please take measures to use $Zelle for payment until further notice. If your bank does not have $Zelle, please notify me prior to your appointment & we will make a plan. The passing of cash has been shown to be a major method of transmission and we believe this action is in the interest of everyone’s well-being. Additionally, we have initiated a new precautionary practice so that parties will feel a sense of protection between them. Starting today, we are wearing & providing masks for you during your visit. Gloves may also be available. We also ask that you "scrub in" upon entering & exiting. Our current policy already includes canceling appointments when staff or client is exhibiting symptoms or feeling ill and to consult healthcare providers to assess their own course of action. Please do not make or keep an appointment if you are unwell. If you arrive sick, your appt will be rescheduled. We also encourage you to pay attention to & avoid anyone near you who may be showing signs of illness as to reduce exposure. Sisterlocks re-attachment. Client experienced unexplained hair loss in a 2x3," patch of hair in back nearly 8 months ago. She has 2 inches of new growth. I am reconstructing her grid & re-attaching the locks she saved. As you can see in the video, the new lock is strong, carefully interwoven into the shorter lock & only her own hair used. No weave, no strings, no glue, etc. You can slightly see where the new growth ends & the attachment begins. The hair will further fuse tog...ether during the matting process--creating an even stronger structure & eventually, it will be like it never happened. Her washing instructions are to braid & band this area. We have approx. 10-12 more to go.
