SWTW's Continued Successes During COVID-19: On August 6, 2020, Partners Kevin Ward and Andrea Pawlak, along with their associate, Ida Sassani, received an Opinion from the Court of Appeals (First District) of Texas affirming their trial court victory on a motion to dismiss pursuant to the Texas Citizens Participation Act in the case of Mattress Firm, Inc. v. Alexander Deitch. Mr. Ward and Ms. Pawlak have been admitted pro hac vice in the appeal. SWTW has continued to have a number of successes over the last several months, while adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. On July 1, 2020, SWTW Partners Kevin Ward and Andrea Pawlak, along with their associate, Ida Sassani, obtained a favorable ruling from the Court of Appeals of Georgia in the complex and multimillion dollar business litigation case of Kieffer v. BH Hasid. The trial court granted declaratory judgment to the opposing party and dismissed all of SWTW’s client’s counterclaims. The Court of Appeals reversed on the declaratory judgment and a number of the counterclaims, sending the case back to the trial court. https://www.gaappeals.us/docket/results_one_record.php
