It’s a girl! Clinch County Deputy Brett Spradley, his wife Brooke, and their daughter Bailey Anna will welcome another baby girl in September. Congratulations!

To truly honor the memories of our fallen heroes, be an honorable human worthy of sacrifice. #memorialday

School is out and summer vacations are kicking in full force. Please do not become a victim while you’re frolicking about. Burglars love to prey on vacationers. Some notes to remember as you leave town: 1. Have a neighbor or friend collect your mail or packages. Do not let mail pile up in the mailbox or allow packages to sit for days on the porch. ... 2. Leave a light on in the house. Better yet, invest in a timer or smart bulb that can be controlled remotely. 3. As much as you want to let your followers know you’re living your best life in Bora Bora or Disney World, just don’t do it. Wait until you return from your trip to post photos of your trip on social media. Don’t check in on Facebook and let criminals know you’re having dinner 6 hours away. 4. Invest in a doorbell cam or other security camera. They’re cheap and well worth it if you’re able to prevent someone from stealing your property. Weigh it out: $50 camera vs $15k buggy? You can also call the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office or Homerville Police Department to set up a security check while you’re gone. If you do have a camera and are alerted that someone is on your property, call 911. Although everyone has my personal number or deputies’ numbers, 911 can dispatch someone much quicker than we can. Criminals are always lurking and searching for their next victim. Don’t be that victim.

One of South Georgia’s own, Douglas native Willie Spence, will be competing in the American Idol finale tonight. Be sure to tune in and vote. Let’s put our neighboring community on the map! #williespence #americanidol #IdolFinale

Since someone sent screenshots of posts on the local gossip page, I feel it’s necessary to address a couple of the items. #1 The Clinch County Sheriff’s Office does not have enough manpower to direct traffic at the high school. For example, tonight there is only one deputy on duty. Keep in mind Clinch County is the third largest county in the state, and one deputy covering >800 square miles is difficult. Just during the last couple of hours, my one deputy has had to work a f...ight at the school, a wreck at the school, a domestic dispute 12 miles out in the county, and investigate a possible suicide. This is precisely why I am typically working at all hours of the day and night because one deputy cannot do it all alone, and I feel it’s my responsibility to do all that I can to ensure my deputies’ safety. Many of the calls we handle are civil in nature and do not necessitate a deputy to respond, however we respond anyway when a citizen requests assistance. If you feel we aren’t meeting your needs, I recommend you speak with the county commissioners and encourage them to provide more funding to hire additional deputies. Another option is volunteer through the school system to be parking ushers to assist with the events at the school. #2 Seeing posts about accidents, deaths, or emergencies should not be posted on a community website. When emergencies occur, we are scrambling to notify family members, and having posts about the incidents on the page are not helping the situations. Furthermore, posting the details of incidents can jeopardize officer safety. While I cannot control what’s posted, I would like for everyone to consider how you’d feel if you found out about the death of a loved one via Facebook post. Imagine being home alone with no support and learning of a loved one’s death. Hopefully, we will eventually have the funding to convert our communication systems over to digital rather than analog so that our first responders can do our jobs without outside interference. In the meantime, if you have a scanner and hear an incident, say a prayer if you wish. However, please refrain from posting about it on social media out of respect for families and our first responders. Also, if you have concerns about the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office, I urge you to call me or stop by my office anytime. My door is always open, and I answer my phone 24/7. My number is (912) 660-1906.

Thank you Steve and Lisa Conner for providing the food and Gregory Calley for allowing us to use his grill to cook for Clinch County 5th graders in the C.H.A.M.P.S. (Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety) program.

Special thanks to Allen Handley and CreekboxTV for hosting a Q&A session. I’m humbled by the kind words and encouragement by our citizens over the last few days, and I am looking forward to working together with everyone in Clinch County. Thanks again for your support. https://youtu.be/bE2ai2TryTI

I tried to pick up as many signs as I could find yesterday, but if you see one I missed, please let me know. I’ll swing by and pick it up. Thanks again for everyone’s support!

Thank you! I cannot possibly begin to thank everyone who supported our efforts because I may leave someone out. Just know that I am appreciative of each and every one of you. We prayed for God’s will to be done, and I’m gracious to Him for allowing me this opportunity. I look forward to serving our community.

Share this post, tweet it, Snap it, TikTok it, post it to Insta, text your friends and family, whatever you can do to spread the word, but most importantly, GO VOTE!!! Tomorrow, August 11, is the runoff election for Clinch County Sheriff. If you have not voted via absentee ballot or during the early voting period, please get to the polls tomorrow between the hours of 7AM and 7PM! The primary numbers clearly indicate Clinch County is ready for a regime change, and we need your... help to make it happen. EVERY VOTE MATTERS!! The 2008 sheriff's election runoff was decided by a difference of 29 votes. It appears the early/absentee votes have decreased from the primary election, so we have GOT to get to the polls on election day. I am again respectfully asking for your support in electing me to serve as Clinch County Sheriff. Let's wrap this thing up! See more

It will only take five minutes of your time for guaranteed positive change in Clinch County. I respectfully ask for your vote. Please allow me to prove I can guide our community in a positive direction instead of a reactive direction.

Sheriff Stephen Tinsley 16.07.2020

It’s good that we can all find a little humor in this election, and boy did this make my day! People have been telling me about this sign, but I had not seen it yet. I agree with Mr. Smith’s sign 100%...please don’t waste your vote on Tinsly because no such person is on the ballot. If Mr. Smith will check his neighbors’ yards, he can see how to spell my name. Vote for Stephen TINSLEY! #TINSLEYAllDay #FargoForTINSLEY #TINSLEYForSheriff #VoteTINSLEY

Sheriff Stephen Tinsley 12.07.2020

Together, we can make Clinch County even greater!

Sheriff Stephen Tinsley 06.07.2020

Since this rumor is still circulating, I will reiterate it: I did NOT say I’m firing the deputies or staff if elected, and I have NO plans to do so. Again, if you have heard such nonsense, call me; I’ll gladly speak to anybody in this community. Allow me to personally explain my platform. Special thanks to those who are speaking truths and choosing not to perpetuate the nonsense. Thanks so much for everyone’s support! #Considerthesource #Changeiscoming
