Join us virtually tomorrow as we break ground on the new Wellstar Douglas Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department. This 7,600 square-foot, purpose-built space will provide emergency care for the smallest members of the Douglas community. Serving over 12,000 children per year, this Emergency Department will bring world-class care and peace of mind to families in Douglas and the surrounding area.

Just like our hometown team, the Atlanta Braves, 9-month-old Asher Stripling has been a little champion in his own right. After experiencing a frightening high fever and febrile seizure, the baby boy was rushed to the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital Emergency Department. He was soon diagnosed with salmonella and swiftly admitted to the specialized Wellstar Kennestone Pediatric Unit (KPU), conveniently located on the same campus. Right in his own neighborhood, Asher received expert pediatric care from the KPU team including dedicated pediatricians, attentive nurses and a caring child life specialist who kept him in safe hands and made him feel right at home. Today, Asher is on the road to making a full recovery. #LittleChampion #SafeKidCare #PeopleCare
