In the past 24 Hours, 14 NEW positive cases have been identified in Jefferson County. I ask you to continue following CDC Guidelines and social distance, wear a mask and wash your hands. The changes that we are asking you to make to routines and daily life are extremely hard, but these changes are even more important now and in the future. It is important to stay vigilant and do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. For Clarity "Active Cases" are the number who are in is...olation/quarantine and will not always "add up" to the daily new cases as individuals are coming out of quarantine / isolation at different times In addition, the daily number tested can be confusing as we only get the number tested in Jefferson County but NEW Positive Cases for Jefferson County are sent to us regardless of where tested at. Jefferson County Covid-19 Update 12282020 In the last 11 days we have seen 54 positive cases identified in Jefferson County. The changes we have had to make to routines and daily life are extremely hard, but these changes are even more important now and in the future. It is important to stay vigilant and do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. While you have been hearing it for months now, it is very important to still be wearing facial coverings and limiting your exposu...re to others outside your household. While the "Active Cases" have dropped as individuals are coming out of quarantine / isolation the infection rate appears to be increasing. Continue to social distance and wear a mask when in public.
