Do you have a nature lover in your house? Do your kids have energy to burn after school? CNC has the answer for your family! Launched in the fall, Kingfisher Kids is an after school series developed to serve students and parents during the pandemic. The series is a drop-off afternoon program where your student sharpens their nature-lover skills in a small group format alongside a CNC Naturalist class ratios are 1:8. Classes build on each other to foster your child’s continued interest in the natural world, and include guided hikes, animal encounters, science activities, snack, and more. You choose Mon, Wed, or Fri sessions that kick off January 25. Winter is a great time to explore CNC - Learn more at https://www.facebook.com/events/2835231506798787/

Get Your Nature On! Today is a great day to get outside and explore!

Chattahoochee Nature Center 18.10.2020

WE ARE OPEN!!! All services have been restored at the CNC and we are open to the public! The weather is gorgeous and if getting outside is on your agenda today, we hope you come and visit our 127 acres of the Chattahoochee Watershed. Plan your visit at https://buff.ly/2HVRmC9 (A donate button has been added below because being closed for 3 days due to weather has been hard in an otherwise very hard year. If you would like to support the mission of the CNC to connect people to nature, please feel free to donate. We greatly appreciate it!)

CNC is currently closed. We were very hopeful to reopen tonight for Halloween Hikes. However, we still do not have power, internet, or phone services, and do not anticipate these services to return before this evening. Therefore, tonight’s event has been cancelled. Ticket holders will receive further information via email shortly. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please use our social media here to connect with us. We apologize for any inconveniences, and appreciate your support, patience, and understanding!

Wildlife Director, Kathryn Dudeck, led a tour of the aviaries at the CNC with Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department for their Virtual Vulture Festival. All of the resident animals at the CNC are injured or non-releasable and Kathryn shared their natural histories and what brought them to the CNC. Watch the virtual tour here and learn something new about the resident animals at the CNC: https://buff.ly/3jncMVS
