I got a Facebook message from a young man in Alabama. He was in a pretty bad accident that totaled his 2008 F-250 Ford Super Duty King Ranch with 238,074 miles.... His Company Travelers used what I consider the ole unreliable CCC valuation system which they determined his truck was ONLY worth $15,114.00. This was another lowball officer in an attempt to shortchange their own policy holder. NOT ON MY WATCH! The truck owner hired me and I submitted my TRUE market valuation paperwork to Travelers independent appraiser. We were only $250 apart. Do you still think CCC is fair and reliable? Appraisal clause RIPS GEICO a new one! I was contacted by a Dr in Illinois. He wrecked his 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LT1. The floor was buckled and the lizard said ...repair it. Chris at Shultz Collision Center said it can’t be repaired it’s kinked. Geico said pull it.. Chris did, and it ripped. Then Chris tells Geico and the Dr. the floor needs to be replaced and there is no procedure in Alldata for that, it’s a TOTAL. The ole Lizard said NOPE, repair it! Chris said NOPE, not here! He tells the Dr he will not repair it and he will not assume the liability. He tells the doc he should probably hire an independent appraiser and invoke the appraisal clause in his policy. The Dr did just that. Geico’s independent appraiser called me. I emailed him the pictures. The next day Geico’s independent appraiser sent an email and said I agree with you, the vehicle is not reparable. I agree it’s a total loss. NEVER TAKE COLLISION REPAIR ADVICE FROM SOMEONE WHO OWES YOU MONEY! Consult a expert appraiser and a shop owner who will look out for you! See more
