MIKE GILES is President of the Georgia Poultry Federation, a trade association which represents the poultry industry in Georgia, the nation’s leading poultry producing state. Giles joined the Federation staff on January 1, 2000 as Assistant Executive Director. He was named President in January 2009. Prior assuming his position with the Federation, Giles worked for the University of Georgia in the Office of External Affairs and University of Georgia Alumni Association. Before ...joining the University of Georgia, Giles held positions with U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and Sandoz Corporation. Giles is a past president of the Rotary Club of Gainesville and serves on the Georgia 4-H Foundation board of trustees and the Georgia FFA Sponsors Board. Giles is a 1983 graduate of the University of Georgia and a native of Unadilla, Georgia. He is married to Carla Rae Abshire who is originally from Louisiana and a graduate of the University of Georgia with a PhD in Child and Family Development. #poultry #serviceaboveself #chicken

The M&K Foundation is proud to present $4,000 to ESP for leadership and personal development opportunities at their summer camp! This summer more than 400 campers of different abilities will take part in an inclusive environment to engage in traditional camp activities. Campers will build friendships and confidence while having a lot of summer fun. Through gifts like this $4,000 donation, The M&K Foundation honors the memory of two Oconee County women, Melissa Norris and Karen Nasworthy, by supporting the academic and leadership development of young people in Oconee County. Since 1984, the Foundation has provided more than $150,000 in college and leadership scholarships to 145 students. Additional donations by The M&K Foundation for other proven summer leadership experiences are forthcoming.

Tomorrow, our guest speaker will be: COL (Retired) Lawrence (Larry) Saul. Following enlisted service, then-Sergeant Saul was commissioned into the Field Artillery from Officer Candidate School (OCS). For the next 30 years he served in a variety of positions, around the world, including three tours with the British Army, two additional tours in Europe, twice in Alaska and elsewhere in the USA. In his final assignment he was as the Senior US Army Liaison Officer to the British ...Army. His last day on active duty was 1 September 2008. He was one of the last 10 Vietnam War veterans still serving when he retired. Since retirement he worked as a consultant to the British Army in the field of Knowledge Management, then, he helped with the reorganization of the Armed Forces of the nations of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Romania. He was a Senior Lecturer at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey California and then Vice President at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California. In retirement, he lectures on Military History and leads historical tours to the European battlefields of WW I and II, with an emphasis on D-Day and the Battles of that followed.

Our speaker tomorrow: Scott Stricklin. Coach Stricklin is in his 8th year as the head baseball coach at the University of Georgia. The Bulldogs have been nationally ranked in the top 10 for the last three seasons and are ranked as high as number 12 nationally for the 2021 season. The Bulldogs finished the 2020 season ranked number 2 in the country. Stricklin spent 9 seasons as the head coach at his alma mater, Kent State University, where he took the Golden Flashes to the 20...12 College World Series. Rosenthal, Ph.D. received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware, his M.A. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, and was an American Cancer Society post-doctoral fellow with Jack Strominger at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. KSR has received funding from the N.I.H., the American Cancer Society, and the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industry for the development and ...study of immune-modulators, antibacterial and antiviral drugs; prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines for viruses, cancer and autoimmune diseases; as well as studies of the mechanisms of pathogenesis of herpes simplex virus.
