Our first annual golf tournament was a blast. We had two teams tied after 18 holes and after an insane playoff hole we crowned our champions. Congratulations to our winners! See y’all next year.

We are proud to announce our very first annual scholarship: The Dooley McBride Outstanding Man Scholarship. It is named in honor of former UGA football coach, athletic director, and Phi Kap Alumnus Vince Dooley and Rev. Claude McBride, minister and long-time chaplain for the UGA football team. This scholarship shall be given to an incoming UGA freshman with the following requirements: 1) Minimum unweighted 3.5 GPA from high school. 2) Evidence of involvement in their school ...and community. 3) A passion for service to those around them. The application is now live on our website ugaphikaps.org. Any incoming male freshmen are welcome to apply, and should you receive this scholarship, it in no way obligates you to join the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. The scholarship award shall be in the amount of $1,000 and shall be given to two recipients. There will be an initial round of application, and select applicants will be asked to follow up with a short interview before selection. Should you know any incoming male freshmen, please encourage them to apply.

As you all know, we are living in strange times. I am sure most everyone has been bombarded with emails regarding how different companies are managing the COVID-19 crisis. If you are interested in how the Phi Kaps are working diligently to grow and build during this time, check out our March and April newsletter on the website: www.ugaphikaps.org

We, the brothers of Phi Kappa Theta, want to honor our senior members that are graduating this Spring. Although we cannot celebrate in person, we are very proud of you and we are honored to call you our brothers. First off is Danny Lopez. He is a member of the spring 2019 pledge class, and is graduating with a degree in Computer Science. He plans to keep working at his internship after college before becoming a developer for Bank of America. His favorite phi kap memory is han...ging out on the roof of the Jason Aldean bar in Nashville during Spring formal. Our next graduate is Cameron Pittman. He was a member of the Fall 2018 pledge class, and was a key member in helping restart our chapter. Cameron graduates with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife and he plans on attending grad school to pursue a degree in Natural History Conservation. Cameron is a part of the Red Coat Band and has served as band captain this past year. Due to this incredible responsibility he has not been able to spend much time with the chapter. His favorite Phi Kap memory was coming back to his first chapter meeting after a brief hiatus, and seeing how much the chapter had grown. Next we have Ben Waters. Ben was a member of the Fall 2018 pledge class and has been at the forefront of the revamping of our chapter. He has acted as Vice President of Intellectual Development this past year and has done an outstanding job. He graduates with a degree in Computer Science and plans to work for UPS as a software developer in the near future. His favorite Phi Kap memory is when he got to initiate the spring 2019 pledge class. Finally we have Charlie Cox. Charlie is a member of the Fall 2018 pledge class and has also been a crucial part of helping get our chapter back on campus. He has acted as Vice President of Leadership Development this past year and has done a great job. He graduates with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance and plans to go into property underwriting in the near future. His favorite Phi Kap memory is accidentally running into phi kap alums at the Ga/Fl game this past fall. We are so proud of all 4 of you and you are always welcome at 677 South Milledge Avenue.
