Smyrna Outdoor Market 12.11.2020

After much careful thought and consideration, we are unfortunately announcing the Smyrna Outdoor Market will be cancelled for this year. Staffing challenges plus social distancing and the virus have just been too much. We would like to let you know, Neighbor's Feed and Seed are hosting a small market on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Please check them out. We will miss you and we hope to be back bigger and better next year.

The Smyrna Recycling Center will be opening on Friday, May 29th. The center will be opening on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00AM-3:00PM by appointment only. App...ointments are now available! The center has new updated safety protocols in place to ensure the safety of both customer and staff and will only be accepting select recyclable materials. While the farmers market season is rapidly approaching, with the CoVid19 virus many are pushing out their start dates. In order to protect the Smyrna Outdoor Market vendors and patrons, we have made the decision to push back our start date to June 6. We are still looking forward to great season, even though it might be shorter than expected. All interested vendors, please continue to send in your applications. Smyrna Citizens: This morning I signed a Declaration of Emergency for the City of Smyrna and issued an Executive Order to protect citizens in this current healt...h crisis. This is not a decision taken lightly. The environment we live in is changing hourly and the City of Smyrna will continue to make timely decisions to protect our citizens and staff. Please be vigilant and limit your interactions with others as much as possible. Smyrna is a strong community and we will all get through this together. May you and your families stay safe. Derek (Update: 10:10 a.m., Fri., March 20, 2020: All other established laws regarding the purchase and/or consumption of alcohol must be followed. The intent of the option with this Executive Order is to help our local establishments stay afloat during this very difficult time. You may order with a takeout order to take home for consumption.) ------------ EXECUTIVE ORDER (March 20, 2020 - effective 8:00 p.m.) Pursuant to the Declaration of Emergency adopted today, and for the reasons stated therein, it is hereby ORDERED as follows: Until April 3, 2020, the following requirements shall be in effect: 1. All restaurants coffee shops and other places where food is offered to the public shall be limited to take out, drive through or delivery. All on premises dining is prohibited. Restaurants with a license to sell alcoholic beverages may sell such beverages with takeout orders. 2. All public assemblages, events and gatherings of ten people or more persons are prohibited within the city limits. 3. All bars, night clubs, skating rinks, gyms, trampoline parks, private social clubs are closed. This executive order is effective at 8:00 PM on 20th day of March 2020. Note: Clarification added at 3:19 p.m. March 20, 2020 - below The City has received several questions throughout the day concerning the executive order issued this morning that goes into effect tonight, Friday March 20 at 8:00pm. Please see below for clarification: 1. No this does not apply to grocery stores. 2. No this does not apply to daycares. 3. Regarding Alcohol sales with carryout food orders: All restaurants that have a license to sell alcoholic beverages may sell beer and wine in unopened containers with in-person take-out orders. This does not include delivery. Restaurants that have a license to sell alcoholic beverages and are located within a designated restaurant district where open containers are allowed may sell such licensed beverages with in-person take-out orders to be consumed within the outside area of the restaurant district. This directive is intended to suspend city enforcement of city ordinances and state law prohibiting certain alcoholic beverages being sold with carry out food purchases. The city has no control over state enforcement of state laws. Any city ordinance otherwise prohibiting this executive order is temporarily suspended during this Declaration of Emergency.
